The Railway Recruitment Board (RRB) has issued a recruitment notification for 32,438 Group D/Level 1 vacancies across various zones. This recruitment is in accordance with Advertisement No. CEN 08/2024. Interested and eligible candidates can apply online for these posts.

Salary: The starting basic pay will be ₹18,000/- (Level-1 as per the 7th CPC).
Application Fee
SC/ST/Ex-Servicemen/PwD/Female/Transgender/Minorities/Economically Backward Class: ₹250 (Refundable after the CBT).
Others: ₹500
Fee Refund: Full refund of ₹250 for candidates in the above-mentioned categories. Other candidates will get a refund of ₹400 from the ₹500 paid, after the examination.
Selection Process
The selection process for RRB Group D posts consists of:
Computer Based Test (CBT): Objective type questions based on General Science, Mathematics, General Intelligence, and Reasoning, and General Awareness/Current Affairs.
Physical Efficiency Test (PET): Candidates qualifying the CBT will be called for PET, which is mandatory.
Document Verification (DV): Candidates who pass PET will undergo document verification.
Medical Examination (ME): The final selection is subject to medical fitness and verification of documents.
Exam Pattern for CBT
General Science: 25 questions
Mathematics: 25 questions
General Intelligence & Reasoning: 30 questions
General Awareness & Current Affairs: 20 questions
Total Marks: 100
Negative Marking: 1/3 mark will be deducted for each incorrect answer.
Cut-off Marks (Minimum required to qualify CBT):
UR: 40%
EWS: 40%
OBC: 30%
SC: 30%
ST: 30%
Physical Efficiency Test (PET) Criteria
Male Candidates:
Carry 35 kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes.
Run 1000 meters in 4 minutes and 15 seconds.
Female Candidates:
Carry 20 kg weight for 100 meters in 2 minutes.
Run 1000 meters in 5 minutes and 40 seconds.
The PET is a qualifying test.
Eligibility
Age Limit: Candidates should be between 18 and 36 years as of January 1, 2025.
Age Relaxation: Age relaxation is available as per government rules:
SC/ST: 5 years
OBC: 3 years
PwD (Unreserved): 10 years
PwD (OBC): 13 years
PwD (SC/ST): 15 years
Qualification
Educational Qualification: Applicants must have passed 10th grade or possess an ITI certificate or equivalent qualifications. A National Apprenticeship Certificate (NAC) issued by NCVT is also acceptable.
